It's Heart Month on DrTranquility Todays Health...Come See What's New!

Welcome you to DrTranquility's Health Blog,"Today's Health". We are so excited to bring this amazing content to you we hope you enjoy it and I remind you to breathe.

Our health is in our hands as Dr. Fred says and so is our well being, so give yourself the extra advantage by picking up your copy of Beating Diabetes, and taking your V Factor!I take my V-Dophilus every day and along Dr V's HCG helped me drop 2 dress sizes!
It's up to you to create the life and health that you want. It is very easy to medicate with food to suppress our feelings. There are lots of sweets chocolates left over from Valentine's Day..comfort foods such as mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, rolls, biscuits ect. So remember when you are feeling "stressed out" by old family issues, feelings of loneliness,or anxiety..do not to reach for the candy that is so plentiful this time of year, try instead this little exercise...Breathing Diagrammatically and walking!

This is a variation of what I learned this while studying at Harvard's Mind Body Institute 'The Relaxation response'

Stop
Breathe
Think about what your response should be
Then you will act rather than react.

It's so important to visualize your day,and life as well. Remember to be grateful for our good health, if you are currently
ill think of the ways in which you are healthy and then say "Thank You"!

We must be proactive and stand in gratitude for what we do have that is positive and well.

If we feel ourselves slipping into negativity hit the reset button by taking a deep exhalation of those negative thoughts and feelings literally blowing them out of your mind and body.

Now, immediately visualize what we are grateful for as we begin a deep inhalation say thank you quietly to yourself.

I can't tell you how many times I do this exercise each day. It is far fewer times than it was when I first started to practice this exercise!

Feels good to breathe doesn't it!
My wish for each of you is that you breathe and are well and the knowledge that you are grateful for being so well!

Dr. Fred is here!
Before we chat with him here is a little quote to remember from a colleague of mine Derrick Desilva, MD for the Journal of Age Medicine timely and appropriate as always,"
What's the 'sweetest' thing I can do for my patients?"

Though Valentine's Day was last week, the "sweetest" thing you can do for your patients is to get them off the sweets. Sugar is not only the most addictive substance on the planet—more addictive than heroin and cocaine, believe it or not—it is one of the biggest driving forces behind the increase in heart disease and other chronic diseases.

Dr.Susan Eisen,DC Senior Editor for Alternative Health for DrTranquility.com
I would like to take this moment to say hello to all of you, loyal readers, at DrTranquility.com. In these times of upheaval how lucky we all are to have someone like DrTranquility to guide us and help us through some dark and difficult times that we all may be experiencing right now!

As I began to write this month’s blog, I was waiting for February 2, 2010 to come along to find out if FOOD, Inc. would be nominated for Best Documentary Feature for an Oscar. This year the Academy Award nominations along with the telecast of the Oscars are delayed one month to allow for the Vancouver Winter Olympics. So, what better time is there to introduce a new feature to the Dr. Tranquility web blogs? Some months ago, I approached Dr. Tranquility with a new idea for the site and today it is my pleasure to announce:
The Dr. Tranquility Film Documentary Showcase!

It is our hope - with this film forum - to bring to your attention some urgent and important topics relating to your health and wellness as well as important social issues that affect us all. Obviously this is what Dr. Tranquility.com is really all about.

The documentary film, more than any other media, strives to educate us about the matters that we need to learn about most. They are always put together by a passionate group of people who live to tell a most important story.

Happily, FOOD, Inc. was nominated for that honor and I couldn’t be more pleased. Now I am sure that all of you regular readers of Dr. Tranquility are aware of how interested in food I have become. So it should come as no surprise that the first film in the documentary showcase is called FOOD, Inc. This movie takes the viewer deep into the real process known as the American Industrialized farming system. I can only say what one of the farmers who long suffered the abuse of a certain corporation had this to say: “If we ask for something better, we will grow it for you. We are very resourceful.” And after seeing this movie, I do believe him.
